TO COME OUT!!! Giant f***kin robots are coming!!!
Also, I don't know how anyone who's a TransFormers fan not be excited with this (like the commenter here complaining about the compositing and how Prime's way too low to the ground). I mean for pete's sake, what, Prime can't go down on his hands and knees to talk to some humans. Maybe he was being nice and instead of the humans straining their necks to look up he offered to kneel down to talk to them instead? Or, or maybe... they're on a platform or something like maybe Bumblebee's roof! And in what way is that a "crappy shot?" Comments like those bother me to no end. Please see it first and then make your conclusions. So far, I'm impressed with what I've seen. Will it be good? I guess I'll have to wait and see.
Well, the trailer for the Infernal Affairs remake The Departed just popped up online and I am very, very, very sad...
If you've seen Infernal Affairs, watch at your own risk..
But who knows, maybe it'll be good. Maybe in order for me to see it, I have to totally forget where it was based from. I mean it is from Scorcese and has Jack in it so it's gotta be decent, right? Right?
After reading my friend's blog post regarding the movie Azumi, I just thought I'd talk about a really good samurai film I've seen recently. it's called Twilight Samurai (Tasogare Seibei). This film stars Hiroyuke Sanada in the lead samurai role. For those unfamiliar to him, he is a very popular actor in Japan. You might have seen from a little Tom Cruise flick called The Last Samurai. He was also in the original Japanese version of The Ring.
Anyway, this movie is very different from any samurai movies you might've seen before. For one, this movie only has 2 actual fight scenes in them! And one of them doesn't even involve a real sword! The reason for the lack of action is that because this movie is really more about the life of a samurai outside of fighting. What does a samurai do when there's no one to fight or when there's no battle to go to? He goes to work in an office inside his klan and goes home and tends to his family and that's what we see in this movie. Apparently, not all samurai's are we always thought them to be: lean, mean fighting machines steeped in learning "the way". Sanada's character in this film shows a samurai trying to make ends meet. He goes to work counting the klan's inventory and does not even have time to hang out with his buddies because he has to go home and tend to his sickly mother, pay off debt and raise his kids. This movie is a gripping and dramatic telling of the life of a samurai behind the sword.
I won't tell you anything more about the plot. I recommend you see it for yourself if you can.
